DASL offers a range of volunteering opportunities, including:
- general volunteering;
- fully qualified roles;
- project specific e.g. gardening, Eastern European projects.
DASL proactively helps students achieve qualifications in Nursing, Counselling, Social Work and Substance Misuse.
Volunteering is integral to DASL’s philosophy and we greatly value the input from volunteers, who help to deliver and enhance DASL services. Our volunteers have found their placements rewarding and key in building their confidence within the working environment.
DASL will encourage and support volunteers in gaining training, qualifications and work experience. In addition we can offer the following benefits:
- Reimburse work related travel to and from home.
- Regular supervision with a supervisor.
- Fortnightly clinical supervision for Student Counsellors.
- Help and support in providing evidence for professional qualifications.
- Annual training days.
- References.
Volunteers will gain a valuable insight into the drug and alcohol field and be able to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence in this area. In return DASL asks that you are reliable, able to commit to a minimum of 3 months and support DASL’s equal opportunities policy as well as DASL’s mission and objectives.
